What to expect from a Pilates session

What time should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive 5 minutes early (7.40pm), so that you can meet your trainer prior to the class commencing and discuss any injury or exercise concerns you have, and also so you can find a space and be ready to start at 7.45pm.

How long does each class go for?

The class will run for a total of 60 minutes, with 5 minutes being dedicated to safety aspects/principles of Pilates, such as pelvic floor, core, breathing etc.

What should I bring to a class?

A yoga mat for you to exercise on, they will not be provided
A drink bottle
Although we welcome all infants and children to our Shape Up Mums group fitness classes during the day, we can not cater for them at this venue, so we would prefer that they not attend, this way you can be present and enjoy your Pilates practice without any distractions

What should I wear?

We suggest wearing normal gym attire (shorts/leggings/light track pants and a top) and a few light layers, so you can remove one if you get hot.

Where can I park?

There is plenty of parking on Valonia Avenue and Canterbury Road and there is also a car park at the back of the Church, accessible via Sydenham Lane.

How much does it cost?

If you are on a Shape Up Mums monthly or 3 monthly membership, Pilates is included in your membership. For casual, 10 session pass holders, or non-members, see our Prices page for further details.
